This beautiful Egret was photographed from the shores of Rockport, Texas on the Texas Gulf Coast.This beautiful bird was once slaughtered by the thousands for it's soft, lacy feathers by plume hunters in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It is now protected in North America and the species is increasing.

I am a digital photography artist. I love the things I see all around me from the mundane to the phenomenal, and if I can capture one of those things in a moment in time, I am happy. Beauty in this world makes my heart smile. Sadness and ugliness in this world makes my heart cry.
