The majestic Texas Longhorn is not an uncommon sight on the many backroads of Texas, and sometimes along the major highways which intersect large ranch lands. The longhorns can be seen grazing peacefully oblivious to the sounds of the nearby traffic.
This particular longhorn was observed lounging in the cool mist of an early morning fog on a backroad not far from my home near Possum Kingdom Lake. I love photographing Longhorns. They are really quite docile. They will give you a long, hard stare, then go on about whatever they were doing before you showed up; however, I would certainly not challenge one. I know who would win that encounter!
