Artist's Description
My husband and I love to camp, and our dog, my husband's best friend, is always with us. We have had many dogs during our 50 years of marriage, most of them Yellow Labs, and no matter where we go, they go. We were camping in a state park in Huntsville, Texas, and I had taken an early morning stroll through the gentle mist. As I returned, this picture greeted me, and a sudden sense of sadness surrounded me. I looked, and I thought, "Is he contemplating the fact that Hunter is very old and this may be his last trip?" A tear fell. We had a brand new Yellow Lab puppy asleep in the camper, waiting to take her place in our hearts when Hunter's time came. Thankfully, Hunter made several more trips with us before the new puppy, Dolly, became the lone canine traveler with us. Sweet memories are what keep us smiling.

I am a digital photography artist. I love the things I see all around me from the mundane to the phenomenal, and if I can capture one of those things in a moment in time, I am happy. Beauty in this world makes my heart smile. Sadness and ugliness in this world makes my heart cry. If I can show the beauty or the ugliness through a lens, it makes me feel as though I have accomplished something special. Most of my work is photography.
