Description
This is an original photograph of an old house in Abingdon, Virginia. The photography has been digitally manipulated to give you a lovely work of art for the walls of your home of place of business. It stands out alone, or would be equally attractive grouped with the other images in the Loves Labor Lost series.
While traveling the backroads of North Carolina and Virginia with my sister and her daughter, I kept seeing these old homes that had been deserted, and I thought to myself that at one time these homes were built with love by someone in order to give his loved ones a nice place to live, and a place to rear his family. Somehow with the passage of time, the old home place became deserted and no one lives there any more except various varmints...mice, spiders, raccoons...and maybe an occasional spirit or two. As a result it seems that the work of love started so long ago is now a bit lost. Sad, but a reminder of the beauty of the family that once lived there. This image would look lovely in your country home,or as a series in an office, bank, waiting room, or any place of business. Certain to evoke memories and conversation.
